Family Tree Quilt

Here's the family tree quilt I will be posting on Etsy - http://myaddibel.etsy.com

This quilt is for sweet Lily, my goddaughter, but the pattern and color choice is available for YOUR family tree quilt.

I used to machine appliqué the circles and it took for-ever!  Then I got an embroidery machine and now each of the circles are embroidered.  I really love the clean look.

I embroidered Lily's name and birth date but you can have whatever you want, up to 3 lines - name, birthdate, place of birth, etc.

  • The quilt measures approximately 47"x37"
  • Standard cost of each quilt is $300.
  • Standard quilt includes 15 circles with photos of your choice.
  • Each additional circle is $7.50
  • You can upload your photos to Picassa, Shutterfly, Flickr, Photobucket, etc.  As long as you provide me with the link to your photos, I can download them to print.
    • Photos where the subject is alone or where there is plenty of room between subjects in the picture are best.
    • I will email you a document with the photos for your review.  This way, you can see how each of the circles will look once they have been cropped.
    • Because this is YOUR family tree and I want to make sure that it is perfect, I may send you multiple emails so I properly place the circles on the quilt.
  • Each quilt has a sleeve on the back so you can hang it on the wall.
  • Optional for $5: a 3"x4" label on the back of the quilt, embroidered and up to 3 lines.
  • There will be a sewn pocket on the back of the quilt that can hold a CD. I will email you the final document with all your photos.  You can edit the document with family history and save the file to a CD. CD is not included.

Email me for additional information.  I will be posting additional color options in the future.  I am also working on some new items and I'll post those soon as well.

Hope you all have a GREAT week.

Welcome!

In June 2008, I was a few months pregnant and my husband and I took a trip to Italy.  On our drive from Italy to Germany, I decided that I wanted to make my baby an heirloom.  I started sketching in my notebook and came up with a family tree quilt.

When I got home, I went to work on it.  About 40 hours of sewing, I finished her quilt with weeks to spare before her grand arrival.

I showed it to my friends and over lunch, one friend in particular told me that I should sell family tree quilts.  The seed was planted and it took four years to grow but I am finally doing it.  My Addibel - Personalized Quilted Creations, named after my babies, Addison and Isabel.  I'm very excited about creating more quilts.  Sewing has become a passion of  mine and I'm excited to share that excitement.  Stop by weekly.  I'll be posting pictures of what I am working on and what I have already created.
